and suddenly it's monday

2004-10-31, 4:44 p.m.

So, it's Monday. And what do I think of that? Not much. I'm not thinking much lately. I think in Japan I'm relaxing into the herd mentality. I'm quite happy to let everybody else make the decisions and I'll follow along at a moderate pace. You may have to slow down to let me catch up now and then.

It was a good weekend. Saturday was sunny and almost warm and we spent the whole day downtown doing Halloweeny stuff with other foreigners and kids. It was fun but I lost an amber stone out of a very precious necklace and I'm quite bummed.

Sunday was drizzly and grey and a perfect day to sit at home all day. We took a nice walk in the late afternoon between the raindrops and picked up supplies for a lovely dinner. And it was. Lovely, I mean.

Now I'm back at school, a bit bored, predicting a lonely day, wishing I had a job that excited me.

I need to cut my nails.

Ran across the tripleswift website this weekend and they've broken up. Huh. It seems Brendan has moved to Bend to be close to his son and I think that's wonderful. It seems like such a selfless thing for him to do, like he's growing up.

The walnut bread I had 3 hours ago for breakfast has left me starving. I hate having breakfast. It's another 2.5 hours 'til lunch. Dang-it, I want a stumptown mocha and a blueberry bagel toasted with cream cheese from noah's. I'd also like a night out at the Laurelhurst with that one pizza that has all the kalamata olives on it.

Damn. I miss Portland so much.
